We believe that access to hiring managers shouldn’t be exclusive or curated. Finding work is full of unnecessary friction that makes it a lot harder than it should be. We believe there isn't a deficit in talented people and that what people and companies lack - is direct access to each other.

The primary cause of ‘inbound overload’ for companies is high volumes of applications from people who don’t have professional experience in the position they are applying for. So as a result, people using cord must have relevant previous experience. You can find a list of the positions themselves here .

The majority of the companies hiring on cord are based in the UK (United Kingdom), the European Economic Area (EEA) and the USA (United States of America), and require applicants to have work eligibility in one of those places. As a result, we require you to be located in one of them, and have the right to work in one of them.

A human verifies every person who joins cord. We use the information you provide in the sign up + publicly available data to aid our verification process. If you are not verified, it will be because you do not have the relevant previous experience to join cord - or you are based outside of the UK, EEA or USA, or do not have the right to work in one of those places.

Direct access means being able to start conversations with people hiring - and fast! As soon as your profile has been verified - you are able to direct message CTOs, Founders and Hiring Managers.

We continually monitor how long it takes for profiles to be verified in real time. Monday through Friday, it typically takes 10 minutes to verify. This time is ~20% longer at the weekends.
